Bar Gissin

Bar Gissin, Co-Chairperson of Young Meretz

Bar Gissin is an Israeli politician of Young Meretz. She holds a BA in Israeli Studies and Comparative Literature from the Haifa University and a MA in Jewish History Studies from the Tel Aviv University. Before she was elected as the Co-Chairperson of Young Meretz in 2016, she hold many other positions in the Party. In 2015 she was Manager of Haifa Headquarter of Meretz Party and lead the campaign for the general elections.

In 2015 she was directing the Coalition for Democracy in education leading the struggle against re-writing the civil studies' textbook and against undemocratic processes in general.

Today she works in the Ministry of Eduaction in the Unit for Gender Equality, where she is coordianting with various units of the office, gender awareness training, preventing of sexual harassements and promoting women.
