Johanna Uekermann

Johanna Uekermann, Chairperson of the Young Socialists in the Social Democratic Party of Germany (JUSOS)

Johanna Uekermann was born in 1987, and holds a master's degree in political science, cultural geography, and sociology of the University of Würzburg. After completing her studies she started working as a research associate in 2014. She joined the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) and their youth organization, the Young Socialists in the SPD (JUSOS), in 2002. From 2009 to 2013 she was the vice chairperson of the JUSOS in Bavaria, and from 2011 to 2013 vice chairperson of the JUSOS in Germany. Since 2010 till today Johanna Uekermann is the JUSOS chairperson for the administrative district of Staubing-Bogen (Bavaria). Since 2013 she is the chairperson of the JUSOS of Germany, and member of the SPD federal executive board.
