Shay Biran

Shay Biran, Chairman of the Social Economic Division at Histadrut

Shay Biran was born in 1981. He studied economics and political science at Hebrew University of Jerusalem and holds a master degree in public policy for manager from Tel Aviv University. He holds his master degree course in financial mathematics at Bar-Ilan University.

Shay served as operations officer of the professional excursions of MK Amir Peretz in 2005. In 2006 he served as head of Youth Division at Israel Labor Party. From 2006-2007 Shay worked as parliamentry assistant to MK Shelly Yacimovich. In 2008 he served as headquater manager of the Labor Party primaries and as political advisor to education minister MK Yael Tamir. From 2013-2014 Shay served as economic advisor, first to the chairman of the Trade Union Division and later to the chairman of the Histadrut.

From 2009-2014 he worked at the Economy Ministry in different positions, towards the end as Director of the solvency 2 department in the capital market, insurance and savings division.

Today Shay serves as chairman of the social economic divison at Histadrut.
