Left parties are able to develop progressive ideas to handle current issues effectively and to promote social democracy. Generally, the social democratic core values of freedom, justice and solidarity are broadly accepted and shared by the people. Social democratic parties, however, need to develop new concepts on how to promote and authentically communicate new ideas and policies that actually serve society in accordance with those values. A social democratic narrative needs to be rebuilt that will help make a recovered social democratic identity visible to the people. A resolute and authentic vouch for core themes could foster the agendas' visibility as well as trust and credibility.

• What can social democratic parties do to regain public trust and credibility?
• What makes successful left parties and movements gain power and public trust?
• Which core issues/themes can be detected that could serve as promising guiding themes of a genuine social democratic agenda?
• How can a recovered identity be made visible to the people?
• How can social democratic concerns be brought back to public discourse?
• How can progressive ideas be promoted? What tools can be used to reach out for the electorate?
• What can be learned from the current crisis?
